Yep...I did it. In spite of all the polarity warnings, I got the polarity on the charger wrong.
Worked fine until I decided to go with better connectors yesterday.
I thought I had the connections on the charger correct and didn't bother (read forgot) to check polarity. Plugged in only for an instant...sparks...quick unplug...corrected polarity...no charge function.
Sent an e-mail to Ping asking about a new charger, but I only have a 3/4 charge left to enjoy the ride on these last few nice days of fall. Bummer.
I'll be taking the charger to an electrician friend (bracing for his razzing) as soon as he gets back from Cancun, but have any of you folks figured out a fix for a blown charger?
Gary
P.S. Don't tell my brother I was so stupid.
