Can anyone help? PS2 port is totally jacked up on a computer I'm working on. It won't boot without a KB. I can't get into the BIOS without a KB. It will not recognize a USb KB until it boots into Windows. I HAVE to get this fixed. :cry::twitchy: Any ideas?

XP.........No, it will not recognize a KB until Windows is fully booted. It Halts at the "No KB" error.

PS/2 to USB Y jack?

if the PS/2 jack is broken on the mobo, you are SOL

reset CMOS? unless the default is 'halt on kb error'

Finally got it to boot with a USB KB attached. Sorry for the interruption, please carry on with your regularly scheduled FOOlishness. :beer:

That has always cracked me up. I know that the things are interchangeable with the stand alone ATM's, but it still is kinda silly;)

Huh? I have both a USB kb and USB mouse and my computer never has a "no kb" error...?

windows has nothing to do with the USB keyboard not working BEFORE WINDOWS loads:p

its all about the BIOS.

Could be worse... you could be seeing that error on a laptop. Fixing that ain't fun, especially if its an older one where the keyboard and bezel are not on parts lists anymore.
