anyone have a trail that they follow for cx training/fun. I bomb through paved streets and make it a point to cut through parks just to get some sort of cx feel. Anyone have a good recommendation for some mixed cx riding in boston???

Blue Hills state park is nice. Some good trails for cx'ing and lots of good atb trails. Great hiking trails too. And as a bonus the roads are great with some good climbs, the loop around the Blue Hills is just over 7 miles...the climb up to the weather observation post has been a hill climbing mecca for us roadies for decades and is definately not for the week in leg or wind.
From Boston head South down Dorchester Ave, take a right onto Blue Hills Ave. which ends right at the base of the long climb. Cross the intersection and head up, up, up lol.

I too am looking to have some fun with my 'cross bike off-road. Since I live near Belmont, I'm planning to try out Beaver Brook and Rock Meadow (http://www.mntnlife.com/?cat=snowshoe&con=trail&val=5381) - there are some trails there and at McLean hospital across the street. If that's fun and doable, I'm heading to the Middlesex Fells (http://www.fellsbiker.com/maps/).
Have fun!
