Classic & Vintage - Know anything about a 1950 Rudge Whitworth?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. A friend of mine has an English Rudge Whitworth road bike, built circa 1950. It is in very good original condition, except the tires, which have been replaced. It has the original leather saddle, three speed gearing, and a generator built into the rear hub. It has been stored in a heated basement for the past 40 years, and has no rust and the original paint and logos. Does anybody know what this bike might be worth? Thanks in advance for your input. I am pretty sure neither of these will give you a price (don't email shledon for an appraisal!!!!), but at least you'll have an idea of the model's place within the brand line.

The 28" wheeled bikes are going for around $200 the 26" bikes under $100,but this one being a 50s in great shape might bring a little more.---sam
wish my garage was heated.
Dear mr. McGeehan,
I discovered today(!) your question about the Rudge Withworth bicycle of your friend. I wonder if he still has this cycle. If so, please give me some more information. The size of the weels, which colour has it, does it have a dry battery at the seat tube? Can you send me some photos of it?
Waiting for your answer and greetings from Holland,
J.H.
