Great Lakes - How was your October?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Trainer free (yeah)!
361 miles, including some cold commutes to work in near darkness.
[sigh] Commutes end until March.
One metric century (streak of 60+ mile rides intact, April - October).
And a couple runs to make up for reduced bike mileage.

I don't have any numbers, but it's been my slowest month since like, September. All that's changing now though. From here until spring, I'll have higher volumes.
It's kind of good to unwind and just cruise for a while though.

It was great. I upped my mileage and did some awesome long rides. Plus a ton of fun night rides.

Well, I rode as usual and my financial portfolio plummeted in value.

About 130 miles, all very slow cruising rides or commuting. Things have been busy so I'm surprised to see I actually rode more this October than last year.
641 miles for me.
very nice.
i got nothing. something like 190 riding and 50 running.
later.

Trainer free (yeah)!
+1 - and that's all that matters.
I didn't put on a ton of miles, but stayed consistant with effort by switching to cross. 2 cross races, 2 nighttime cross rides (fun), some weekend rides...etc. I rode 50 today with jt1....
Much better than my normal Octobers which are usually when I call it quits for the year. Heck I'm still racing, still have good form, still losing weight, etc.
Bonus...

322.3 miles for October. Only have gotten in 26 miles this week but hoping to get a 30 miler in tomorrow to start November out. I'm only 86.1 miles away from reaching the 3,000 mile mark for the year which i should reach by next Saturday.

Only 236 miles in October. It seemed lots of circumstances conspired against me to limit my commuting days and weekend rides.

Only 283 miles for me, mostly mountain bike miles and spent quite a bit of time on the trainer when I didn't fell like going out.

October was such a fabulous month. Amazing weather and lots of good riding. Riding the Hilly Hundred in Indiana gave my mileage a boost. Rode 520 miles in October along with teaching full time and running 30 miles/week. Enjoyed many afternoon quickies....20 miles over at Fermi after school and home to fix dinner.
As far as my running, I'm feeling like Elvira Queen of Darkness as I'm running all my miles in the pre dawn hours. That will change on Monday with the changing of the clocks this weekend.

Hell, I RAN more in October than I rode. One more run this coming weekend and all that marathon craziness is behind me...for now. I plan on getting the Cervelo out on the road for a few miles tomorrow morning, then its a few more rides to get myself back in shape for the week long riding trip I'm doing in Florida during Thanksgiving week.

Let us know how the marathon goes. Good luck!
Our mileage was up over September, and that despite having several mountain bike rides.
Is there a conversion factor that compares MTB miles to Road Bike miles? LOL :)
I had a nice Oct. 511 miles.Road bike on weekends, hybrid during the week on the IPP.

Yep.. zero. Cleanup work from the flood is still in progress. Also a new business startup has begun in October. Everytime I look at my bicycle I weep.

~500 commuter miles (only got to do 18 days this last month, due to LONG days at work), and God knows how many other miles. Just yesterday (I realize that was november) I knocked out a good 25 miles.
I finally downloaded my last two rides and now can verify my lake of time in the saddle for Oct. Totals were 211.2 Miles and 12.1 Hours, I guess for October that isn't all bad.

362 miles here, well down from my summer peaks of >600 miles per month. 120 of those came on 10/11 and 10/12.
11 miles but it was a rough month. Broke my left fibula hiking in the Smokies on 4 Oct and had hernia surgery on the 14th. I recovered from surgery and hopefully the cast comes off in 45 hrs (Thurday morning). Then it's time to hit the Comeback Trail. November has to be better.

Sucked. Bit by a dog on the 4th and still have a big hole in my leg and can't ride. - TF
