Did 20 miles up and across the foothills. Started slow but felt good by the end of the ride. Plus I snapped a pic at 26 mph with "No Hand Ma!":D...Bike was much more stable than I expected it to be at that speed.:thumb:

about 1.5 miles:thumb: Ok, it was on my new rebuild and it was test ride. Didn't want to get too far from home, but I had to try it up a hill to see how the gears were. No chance to ride hands free today, to busy playing with the friction shifters.:innocent:

Those testride miles add up! I've headed "just down the driveway" before and ended up with 7 or 8 miles!:D

You put many of us to shame. I never gone that fast with no hands. I take my hat off to you and hope that you and the Mrs. have a Happy Halloween!!!

32 miles. 12 before work, 20 after. I hit 32 mph coming down the back side of an overpass. I kept both hands on the drops! No camera...

25.5 on the MUP for me today with my riding chum.... beautiful weather except for surprise headwind for last seven mile leg.:) Had 375 mile total for the month.

Bah. I still don't know my speed. I had to splice in 6 inches of wire to my Cateye Strada cyclocomputer (which came with their longest wire) so it'd reach the rear wheel on my V-Rex. Of course, I neglected to scrounge up a multimeter to check the wiring work before I closed it all up with shrink wrap and electrical tape, so I have some razor blade work to do... I would have just run the speedo off the front wheel but the 20" wheel, fork, and spoke geometry just don't get the spoke magnet close enough to the sensor.

Have you tried using a spacer? I made a couple out of an old tube so my sensor could read off my rear tire. Just stack them one on top of the other until you get your desired extention, plus the rubber wont scratch up your paint :thumb:.

I thought about doing that, but the problem is the 20" wheel has a sharp angle from the hub to the rim, which combined with the fork geometry makes for a large gap to fill. I decided to go for the rear wheel instead. I am now sort of regretting this approach due to my own stupidity, but I will forge ahead and re-splice the extension wire. When I get a chance. I also have a new front derailer to install, new dual-compound Koolstop pads, oh, and some riding to do! :p

Fastest with no hands was probably 40, but that was 30 years ago, and I had no fear. I also had no gear other than basketball shorts and tennis shoes. Everything else was bare.

Farthest with no hands was about 30 blocks. We used to do it to see how far we could go. Sometimes traffice in town was a problem. Then it was how may blocks you could ride a wheelie. 10 before I hit a pothole that bent my rim on my ten speed. Then I had to carry the bike home. I then started buy cheap throw away bikes just to get the spare parts.

Glue/Epoxy/DoubleSideTape magnet that is for the crank instead to the inside of one of the chainrings up front. Works perfect that way on all the six recumbents I set up that way, only two were mine :(

You can put the magnet on the wheel pretty close to the hub. I haven't ever ridden your model of bike but on a 16" and 2 x 20" wheels I have setup I didnt' have a problem mounting a speed sensor/magnet and getting it to work. Hopefully the splicing will work out for you I had to do that on a bike because the wire was too short to even reach the front wheel on my BikeE.

Halloween miles 47 just my commute. I haven't ridden no hands for a long long time even on my road bike.
