Even though I live in the heart of the south, I was happy to see a new Minora Hypermag trainer under the xmas tree this year. I set it up per instructions and have put in about six hours or so on it so far. It seems that my rear tire is wearing down which is causing some concern. I adjusted the roller so that it barely touches the tire and then give it a half a turn more (per instructions). Any advice?
Yes, a lot of trainers will do that to rear tires. Go out and by a cheap tire for the trainer. I've been recommended Specialized brand. They withstand the trainer wear, and are pretty decent on the roads at this time of the year.
Welcome to BikeForums from a "neighbor" in Atlanta.
I don't have a Minora trainer, but on my trainer my tires do wear during the winter months. But after only 6 hours there shouldn't be any "noticeable" wear. Maybe you should check your setup? Too much pressure against the tire?
Good luck.
