hi guys my handlebars are 27" wide, should i cut them down close to the width of my shoulders? i have always felt they are to wide, because on some trails i have to be very careful to make it between some of the trees, it can be a very tight fit. if i do cut them down will that change the feel or the handling ?
thanks in advance for your replys.
Not necessarily. Yes and yes.

I cut mine down and there was definately a change in the feel and handling. I have gotten use to it (without too much trouble) and actually now prefer that feel. I do some of my riding where the shorter bars are definately a plus. If you've got expensive ones and are not sure, get a cheap sacrificial one that is of similar geometry and cut it off to try for a while before amputating the high $ one and being sorry. Though that adds another variable in the feel and handling testing.
