Have you been to your LBS and decided that the M80 fits you best geometrically and everything? Or have you just been looking at reviews? Don't make my mistake of just going in and buying what got good reviews. Test ride everything in your price range, and get a feel for the bike.

But I agree with Trekkie. Not many places online where you can get a bike that is brand new for cheap. Ebay might have a brand new unassembled bike, but then you will have to pay your LBS to assemble it. So your pretty much better off buying it at your LBS.

I read an M series bike when I first started shopping. It didn't shift smoothly. None of the Raleighs I rode did. I read some stuff online that Raleigh is having problems this year for some reason.

I shopped the Specialized Hardrock Comp and Giant Yukon from local bike shops. Both shifted smoothly. I bought the Yukon because it was only $430 with disc brakes (the Specialized dealer had high markups).

Go to mtbr.com and read about the M60/M80 bikes. You'll see more than one comment about the shifting problems.

Besides crappy tires (Hutchinson Scorpions (swapped out for Fire XC Pro), I'm 100% satisfied with the Giant Yukon.
