Commuting - Ever see a commuter in a tuxedo?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Sorry no pics (don't own a camera), but I do in fact commute in a tuxedo from time to time. I study music in school, and do a lot of freelance gigs on the side for cash. For closer gigs (5 miles or less, anything in my town basically), I'll just ride there in my tux to avoid bringing an extra set of clothes if the weather is nice. I certainly get a lot of funny looks (2 social oddities- adult riding a bicycle, and anyone wearing a tuxedo), but I enjoy it. It's a crappy tux, so I'm not really worried about damaging it.
What's the dressiest clothes you've ever commuted in? Pics are always a plus.

lol you win! Get somebody to take some pics or video and post em up! I'm sure you could find somebody with something like my crappy kodak easyshare c743 that takes still pics and 640x480 30fps videos with audio that do perfectly fine on youtube...the camera only costs like $100 (or less used).

I don't commute in a tuxedo, but ride in a suit on occasion and have ridden from my parents house to the nearby church in a white dinner jacket. Got plenty of hoots and hollers off of that one:p

Wait a sec, tuxedos were not meant to be worn before 6 p.m. It is for those fancy occasions (w/ weddings as the exception to the rule) where invitations say "black tie only". Many would see it as a faux paux to ride your bike to the occasion. Other than that, why wear one to your morning commute?

I rarely wear a tux for anything other than playing with a symphony. I usually show up early enough that the audience doesn't see me enter, :)

Here I am, about to leave after a concert one Sunday afternoon in college. Guess what instrument I play (and no fair searching my posts) --

Well, you didn't have it on you, and that's what I used to play, so it's the first thing that came to mind.

i sometimes wear suits, dress pants, button up, tie and blazer with nice dress shoes on my bike. but i perfer just to change when i get there. i'm not so worried about the dirt, but sweat and crashing. i love to dress up and go out dancing or do ballroom classes, and i know i am going to be dancing with soemone close and i hate to be all sweaty and stinky for them. also crashing, if theres an emergency stop or crash, there goes a pair of good shoes(i have 6dress shoes) or hole in pair of paints, blood everywhere. either way its no fun or safe.
btw i think i have a shoe fetish, 11pairs and i plan on buying two more, also i'm a guy.

I was going to say Bassonist.
No bike, but here I am warming up for a quartet before a community orchestra concert.

I could've been playing piccolo... ;)
What isn't evident in my pic is that my apartment is nearly visible from that spot -- it's just a block farther to the right down the road behind me. It was nearly pointless for me to ride a bike to campus, but I rode it downtown or to the reservoir just for fun.

Ok James Bond ... pics or it did not happen.
Saw a guy one time riding in nothing but tan boxer shorts. Does that count? Wife and I at first though he was nude!
