Whoever ordered the new street signs isn't the roundest drum on the steam roller.

My street name address is "Avenue of the Giants", try fitting that in some small block on a govt. form. :)

Meh, who pays attention to the street/road/avenue/boulevard part of a street name? It's the first part that's important.

The only street signs I tend to notice these days are stop signs.

Speaking of road construction crews I and several cars were stopped recently on the way down the Trinity Grade in Sonoma County, CA. Two miles of road at a 10% grade had been single-laned for shoulder work. When up-hill traffic passed the guy with the sign sent the cars down the hill and asked me to wait a moment. Then he let me go with a promise that he had told the man at the bottom to hold all up-hill traffic until I had gone by. Heaven! I got to use both lanes. :) :) This is the big hill the Tour of California will be coming down as they go from Sacramento to Santa Rosa on day one.
