Now I think this is the right section so here goes.
I'm going to start commuting into college (50ish mile round trip... would have already started but the store is struggling to get hold of the bike I want). Now I'll only be doing this for 3 days a week and want to start some running training on the 4 days I have off.
Reading various books and websites it seems that constantly excerising the same muscle groups seven days a week isn't good for them, because they have no time to recover/reapair any damage/strengthen. I heard that bikes with steeper seat angles cause you to use different muscle groups than you do when running (obviously mainly on tri bikes due to running afterwards). Should this be something I should look at on a bike (I could always just move the seat forward/get a sloping seat post for the bike I'm planning on getting), or is it really not worth worrying about?
Just curious because I'd rather not be doing my body any damage and would obviously like to get the maximum return out of any excersise I do.
Thanks in advance for any help.
