Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I ride 25 miles daily to work ( weather permitting). At night I would get home at abou 1am and look to in bed by 2am. What might be some things to eat where I wont be so bloated when I get bed?
It's generally not recommended to eat just before going to bed since digestion slows or stops during sleep. If you need something, stick with high calorie low bulk items and stay away from proteins which are the hardest to digest. Something like a little pasta with lots of butter (carbs and fats) would probably sit the best. I'd try eating something light and easily digested before the ride home - just don't overdo it as the blood will be in your legs not your stomach so much.

Increased blood glucose inhibits the production of HGH. HGH is partly responsible for cell reproduction and growth in humans. It can also aid the body in fat burning. THe largest period of HGH production in humans is generally in the first 60-90 mins of sleep. You'd be better off with some protein before sleep, unless you are not concerned about weight or adding muscle/strength.
Skip the butter...use olive oil instead.

A banana right when you get home followed by cottage cheese and peanut butter 30 minutes later. Protein digestions doesn't stop when you sleep.

What might be some things to eat where I wont be so bloated when I get bed? Nothing. The only "healthy" solution is to plan a light meal before you begin your ride home. Near the end of the ride have a snack.
