I made my first single speed hub the other day. It was REALLY easy, and I love the look of it... In the future I will probably perform the same mod on my R-20. I will possibly be coloring the spacers to match the bike. Take a Looksie :)

(Im posting this to this site because of SingleSpeed interest in the folding bike community)

This bike is actually fun to put together especially after working on something like my R-20. So much thought has to go into workin' on the R-20, and it really teaches you about working on other bikes in general.

I will be working on my R-20 more in the near future too. I have gotten many an email from people asking about my blog and if I had given up on my Twenty. I have a lil somethin' up my sleeve, and its goin' to take a bit to execute the mod.

Wringing hands in anticipation (no movement on my 5Twenty recently either I'm afraid... )
Nice stripey spacers you have there. Soon you'll be going one further and going fixed!

I found two places that make a single speed cog that will fit on the Disk Brake hub mount. It instantly give you a flip flop hub. The one on our side of the pond is called "TomiCOGs", and on your side of the pond there is a brand called "London Fixie"

Check em out, they'r pretty flippin sweet...

These things are a really slick way to go. I guess the main concern would be getting a Disk hub that is narrow enough for your rear dropouts.
You also have to think about the use of FRONT DISK HUBS as track hubs. they would be more narrow than the rear, and give you a Fixed only hub. I wonder where that set up would put your chainline.

Just a lil sumfin for us to role around in our heads :)
