Training & Nutrition - Cycling in relation to erectile dysfunction

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What, if any, is the corrilation? How much do you have to ride for it to be a problem? I use a performance saddle designed to eliminate it, but i just hope it works...

Riding a bicycle does not cause erectile dysfunction, but riding a bicycle incorrectly sometimes will. The saddle is not the problem. Low handlebars are the problem. Too-low handlebars force you to lean forward onto your perineum, putting pressure in a place that cuts off blood flow to the penis. So if you get numb nuts and/or numb pecker you should look for a solution in your riding position first, then look at new saddles (brooks b.17 is a good choice).
heh. they got one that's named after me (colt). wonder if it's any good?

anyone seen those 'hammock' style saddles. It would seem they have no pressure points what so ever. Does anyone like them..
i thought all brooks worked like a hammock?

They have a weight limit - something like 180-190 pounds (??).

Don't worry. I'm 59 and ride all the time and have no problems at all.

Thank you...im only 20, and i really don't want to lose my libido any time soon(or at all, for that matter)
Since my significant other and I started riding, sex has only gotten better. Her and I both last longer and get less tired.
No dysfunction here ;)
