Hi all,

I just thought I'd let you know how I mounted an L2D to my helmet - in a really secure, removeable and user friendly way! I had to sacrifice a bottle mini-pump mount, but I think it is worth it.

I used a mount from a topeak pocket rocket mini pump, which I can only assume is also available in the US:

This mount fits an L2D PERFECTLY in it's holder side. It uses a rubber O ring to securely hold the pump, which is perfect for removing the torch when not required. With some cable ties, I found a suitable place on my Giro Monza to attach it to- I imagine that other helmets would also have equally suitable places.

Once secured with cable ties it is very stable on the helmet with very little movement. Used with P7s on the handlebars it is a fantastic combination for speedy night time road riding :-)

ask for a mount for Topeak Pocket Master Blaster pump..

Very nice and clean. But I see you don't trust it fully, as you still have the lanyard looped around :) I still do that with my LockBlock too.

like you i had to sacrifice a pump to get the "helmet" mount :D

It uses a double O Ring, and is very solid once mounted on the helmet, it doesn't slide or anything like that.

the only weird thing, i'm still getting the hang off, is whenever i look at something a "mysterious" light follows me around, LOL :D still can't get quite use to it yet

Would these mounts fit on a stem? I realize that I would have to shim the back of the mount to get the L2D at the proper angle.

My co-worker discovered that my Fenix L2D will actually fit right through the vents on his Giro E2 helmet, thanks to the size of the vents and the depth of the air channels. We were debating what effect this would have in an impact to the top of the helmet, of course ;) but it was incredibly slick. The lens of the Fenix peeks out of a front vent. The tail-cap button is easily actuated via the rear vent.
