Well, fall has arrived here in the PNW and I've run into a little problem that I didn't expect. I added a Zzipper fairing to the bike last summer, which I absolutely love. I drilled a hole in the front to install a post I can attach my front light to and thought I was all set to go. Not quite.

I'm dealing with my fairing fogging up. I've tried RainX anti-fig and Cat Crap on it, but neither seems to help all that much. I can stop and clear it with a towel, but that only works for a while. It's not all that big a deal, since I look over the fairing most of the time, but there are times when I want to look through it and I can't.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, have you found a solution you're willing to share?

My fairing fogs at stop lights on cold days. I don't see it as a problem- I look over the fairing:

Right now I'm eliminating it as a problem. My Zzipper's gotten so beat up, I'm painting it to hide the scratches.

Use an old snorkeler's trick and rub the inside of the fairing with the cut end of a potato. It probably won't work any better than it did for my diving mask, but ya never know...

Shaving cream for me (because of the glycerin base I think), but no material I've found eliminates it in every climate, some days it just fogs or frosts, sometimes for the entire commute, and somedays just until the fairing temp stabilizes to the outdoor temp after spending the night in the garage.

I have not heard of this being used on a fairing yet ( you could be the first )

I have had a problem with paintball masks fogging or my prescription glasses fogging inside the mask. I've tried many different things, both commercial & home remedy. THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS! Glass or plastic, it works very well. It is not cheap, but you don't need to reapply every day.

I have heard of it being used in cool weather (this time of the year) on motorcycle helmet windshields & it worked well with changing temps & moisture.
