As long as they don't look TOO much like art, to the point that some overzealous cop gives you a ticket or bike cut-off for locking inappropriately to public sculpture...

Simple, cool, reminds people that bikes belong and when cyclist do it right, we can lock 4 bikes to it.

We've got that one at one of our neighborhood pools. I've never seen a bike locked to it or anywhere near it. Mostly kids ride to that pool and just lay their bikes down on the ground.
