Trying to gauge if there would be any interest in buying one of the classic Falcon Eddie Merckx I picked up recently. They are in nice shape, Brooks Professional saddles and all Campy. Frame is double butted Reynolds 531. The chains are still in the zip lock bags that the previous owner had then stored in. The bikes are smaller, about 52cm measured center of crank to the top of the seat tube.

Well, I did a quick search of E-bay and found two Falcon Eddie Merckx in not so great shape and with out the Campy parts for around $200 for a ladies model and just over $300 for a men's. I was thinking that one of these would be worth about $500?
I haven't serviced then at all, but the gentlemen who owned them (bought them from the widow) was very meticulous. In the parts drawers were a pretty fair number of small Campy parts, Campy grease etc. He clearly prepped the bikes for storage before hanging them in the garage, as evidenced by the removal of the chain (which is as clean as new) and the placement in a zip lock bag to keep it from collecting dirt.
I would like to see the bike go to someone who will appreciate it, so any BF member who wants to make an offer, I will give all due consideration.

That's about what I figured. I would LOVE this bike and would certainly appreciate it, but it's a little over my budget for right now. I just built up a Keirin frame and I ended up going disgustingly over budget, so I'm stacking bread for the next purchase.
Thank you for the consideration, and I hope these bikes find good homes, they are beautiful.
If only a 56 as I would gladly give you $500. I like to ride them as well (lol).
I have been looking for one of this in great shape in this color plus a mint Falcon San Remo.
Seems like forever. I might consider buying a smaller one for display.

If the bikes were bigger I would be keeping them for myself. Right now I am thinking that one gets sold and the other gets kept for display. I am watching a couple of ebay auctions right now to see what the 'real' value is.

Watching a current ebay auction and it is looking like I have under-estimated the value of the bikes. That auction closes on 3 days and I will adjust and come up with a firm asking price for the bike then.

The auction I was watching closed today and the bike in that sale sold for $710. It lacked a few features of the bike that I have for sale, so I am going to set the price for the bike for anyone on BF to $575.
The auction number is 200273160487
