Earlier, I checked a dedicated computer insurance company for a policy rider for my MacBook. They were asking about $350 or so. Just out of curiosity, I called up the company I use for my homeowner's and auto. I asked them if they had a rider that could cover theft, liquids, accidental microwaving, or other damage. They did. For about $10 more a year.
