hardcore existentialism. written to go with music @ about 170bpm.

hey go pack your bags; it is time to go for a walk, my friend;
it is your journey through time, it is your journey 'till the end.
don't hang your head low for this walk will take some time.
just look up and around, think, understand: and i think you will be fine.

this walk will take you somewhere special and true, don’t you know?
this be an adventure through your mind, where you will find
a special place: it'll light up your face: your happiness found,
where you're for real and then it's known that your journey has finally finished and is now over.

it's not that simple, though, nah it's not quite like i said.
you better know of a few things blocking your road ahead.
it's the way you look at things as you walk along this path you tread:
those monsters blocking your path are all really in your head:

those monsters you must conquer to have your peace of mind.
only you are your own hero, my friend, i think you will find
when you cross the great divide you have split in your head,
you will have that happiness found, kinda like i just said.

okay then, i've just had a change of my thought.
think of it this way, 'cause i know an answer is still sought.
split your world up into two parts, with a portal in-between
and hopefully from one part, with you, the other can be seen.

and when you look at yourself, and you look for real this time,
and you look up at that mountain top in front of you you know you must climb,
just think about the truth, and your happiness, and your goal
think about you as a person, and your life as a whole.

'cause you know you will need to climb that mountain top.
to do this those funky glasses and artificiality you must drop.
even when the journey gets tough, and you know you're all alone,
continue forward strong, 'cause your quest of truth is just your own.

so fulfill your quest my friend, how 'bout you remove that gap?
the gap in-between truth and reality; that reality trap?
and finally when your life becomes one with the truth,
you will look back 'pon your story and think: "man, i was a goof!"

Nifty poem but it leaves me with a question.

Doesn't this actually trace a path out of existentialism to a life that actually might have some purpose?

finding peace of mind in a meaningless world. accepting life as it is, and becoming "enlightened," in a shady way.
