What's causing the stench? Was it the beer-battered fish and chips + peas or the garlic fried mushrooms that followed or the beer that washed it all down? :o

What's causing the stench in your house?

Nasty.

You know, my dog's been farting up a storm in the bedroom these last couple nights. Causing my wife to pull the covers up over her nose. Lets just say that there's no safe place.

Laundry, and it's been too damp to do it (let a lot of my stuff air dry - natch).

my "stench": I have clean laundry rolling around in the dryer, a vase of fresh-cut flowers on the counter-- and chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven.

My old house has a stove with continuously-on pilot burners. Just teeny-tiny flames. However, there's enough heat output from that small flame to heat a small pot of water to @ 90F-100F degrees. Throw in some herbs, flower petals, or seasoning, and the pilot flame-heated water will fill the house with the aroma of the said herbs, petals, seasoning.

That's a good stench.

Mine is caused by redoing the ceilings...

funny you should ask. we had mice come in when the weather cooled off. so I went out and bought traps and set them. not fast enought for my wife. I told her not to use decon (poision) but she wanted those mice out of the house right not. For about a week the house stunk bigtime. They hide and die. You can never find them. Bet she never does that again. Course she never listens.

Needs to be a Foo sticky for practical advice.

Which part about mice stinking or wife's not listening?
she never reads BF so I can be kinda mouthy without getting in trouble.

My place probably still smells like a combination of the brazed short ribs I cooked on Saturday, the brisket I had in the slow cooker yesterday, and the stuffed peppers which have been slow steaming since I left the house early this morning.

poo. lots and lots of poo. All artfully produced by 4 kittehs and 3 adult cats.

:notamused:And the 3 or 4 wild ones that live outside and I managed to mash some of their offering into my cleats.:notamused:

Leftovers come with me for lunch at work. :)

(My leftovers smell far better than some of the narsty stinking fermented fish and cabbage atrocities a few of my coworkers bring. Mmmmmm Mm. Nothing says "lunchtime!" like a microwaved bowl of what smells like kimchi and Fancy Feast.)

your office too? God, I could gag to death on some of the smells that eminate from the microwave here.
