Awesome.
Pretty amazing... I'm gonna have to try this the next time I go up (with a safety pilot, of course)..
:D
The air force said in a news release that O'Neill initially believed he'd been "dazzled" by bright sunlight, and made an emergency call for help. He then realized that something more serious was happening, and said, "I want to land, ASAP."
Holy cow that's a terrifying thought!
I'm glad he's regaining his eye sight. Blind people are amazing.
+1
My sister-in-law is legally blind (due to a brain tumor as a child) and although she can see a little (20/400 or something), it's amazing how well she can do. Sometimes I try just walking through my house with my eyes closed and no matter what, I just can't do it.
Truly amazing...

Fantastic story. Well done by Mr. O'Neill keeping his cool, and well done, by Mr. Gerrard guiding him down.
"I kept saying 'Are you visual?' and he would reply 'No sir, negative, I'm sorry sir.' He kept on apologizing.
Ha! Leave it to the British to be profusely polite in a dire emergency. :D
