Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Something in the water

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I'm riding into the parking lot today and this old lady in her car (wearing blue blockers of course) starts honking and waving so I stop. Mind you I'm wearing cut-off army pants and a Triumph Motorcycles t-shirt.
Here is the conversation:
Lady: Are you a police officer?
Me: No, I'm not a police officer.
Lady: I've seen you around, You ARE a police officer.
Me: Lady, I'm NOT a police officer.
Lady: I called the police station to report someone messing with my property and they wouldn't send anybody.
Me: I'm not a police officer.
Lady: They said to stop calling or they would send someone out to arrest me.
Me: I'm not a police officer.
Lady: I'd like to see them try! They can't arrest me for living a decent life!
Me: I'm not a police officer.
Lady: You tell your damn boss to just try to arrest me!
Me: I'm not a police officer!
Lady: You're a liar...blah! blah! blah! trailing off as I rode away.
The moral: Don't paint your bike blue I guess.
Maybe it was the bike cop shoes?
BTW, if no one knows this Cinci has one of the best bike paths out there. Something on the order of 70 miles end to end. Had a friend that lived in Loveland, great area.

Maybe it was the shaved cat.
the Loveland trail is fantastic! Unfortunately I live about 20 miles away so I don't ride it too much. I need to go out there with my camera there are some interesting things out there like an old powder factory and shell factory that were in production for the world wars and I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff too.
The great thing about the trial was that after about 6-7 miles, you got away from all the walkers/runners/skaters and the trail was yours. Well, that and the ice cream shack/bike rental place. Talk about a goldmine in the summer.

It was sunny there today??
Schwinnbikelove: It's 70 and overcast here. Not bad riding. Except for the crazy people.
Stickerguy: As far as I know it is all paved heres some info http://www.great-trails.com/miami.shtml

Can't dance, jump, sing, etc. If you ever did want to become a cop, you're the easiest quota to fill (white male). I'd have a little better chance being female.

I'm not necessarily being racist here myself, just recognizing some perceived negatives about being white. That, and I'm just in a goofy mood.

Isn't it legal for Cincinnati police to shoot on sight, particularly if their victim is, shall we say, of a darker persuasion? I dunno why anyone would dare speak to a Cincinnati cop (except your crazy old friend) You say the 'Nati is behind the times, the rest of Ohio is just waiting for the civil rights movement to reach you.
Oh I hope you all see the non-racist, purely anti-cincitucky humor and don't all proceed to flame me.
I can play a few instruments and I used to be a decent artist (still trying to get that back) but you're right I can't sing, dance or jump. I don't want to be a cop. I'm a chemist actually, all that science beat the art out of me. I want to get a job at the EPA so I at least feel like I'm on the positive side of my chosen profession rather than the pollution side.

No way! I've been thinking about the EPA. Are you single?
What instruments do you play, and what medium(s) did you work with in art, just out of curiousity?
Cincinnati has its problems (oh so many problems) and I'm not going to say the police are right because in many cases they are not. But the backlash from their mistakes has been so bad that they were afraid to act. I was actually living in Chicago when all that stuff went down and all I have to say is that I was never afraid downtown before the riots but our downtown has gotten real bad after the riots, This is due to the police being afraid to act. Their use of force was over the top in the incident that spurred the riots but on the other hand that kid was a criminal who was evading police in a dark alley.

When I was in High School I worked with paint and chalks. I originally wanted to go to art school but the one here cared more about GPA than a portfolio. So I went into science. I play any instrument that is put in front of me and I record it too  . Primarily guitar, bass guitar I want to get some drums, My aunt is giving me an old 70's Hammond organ with a built in drum machine (I'm gonna have a blast with that) I'm currently trying to get a website together that will have some of my music on it. Painfully white music :p and yes I'm single, painfully single.

If PETA hadn't taken away your cat you kept shaving, you wouldn't be single.
