so here's a semi-on-topic question..

shouldn't a shimano dynohub (3n80) be able to power an E6, secondary E6, and a rear light? i couldn't get the wiring to work, nor could the LBS - and they seem to think it's not possible. it should work, right?

mattm,

I don't have any direct experience with the E6, but I think I remember seeing a thread about this problem in electronics. The Shimano hub I own has one of the leads grounded to the axle. Possibly, the E6 also has one of the leads grounded to the body? If this is the case, the frame of the bicycle could be shorting out your second E6 when you connect them in series. You can test this fairly easily with a multi-meter if you have access to one. Otherwise, remove the lights from the bike and wire them up. If the frame was shorting things out, they should work as expected this way.

If it was the E6 I was reading about, I seem to remember the grounded lead was connected to the body through a screw located inside the light.

I hope this is some help

It would be nice if people knew how to post to Internet forums.

If you have a specific topic and reason to do it - then start a new thread - although, there's little point.
