Well ok, I didn't ride!:D....I had an appointment at the dentist this morning so I skipped today's ride. I thought I was going to get a ton of work done after the surgical process done 3 weeks ago. I was expecting them to start building my bridge. I wait 30 minutes, walk in, wait another 20, they look at my tooth, say it looks good and we'll see you next week cause I need a special appointment since it's a time consuming procedure. WTF! I hate the dentist!
So I go home trying to decide whether or not I should ride or just skip. I mention it to Gina when we get home but she suggests cruising the course. Dam, I forgot about the TDF, let's go!:D
We cruise the course but I'm thinking we've missed a bulk of the riders cause the crowd was small and scatterred. So we park on Baldy watching the riders struggle up the climb. Now I know it was the tail end as 75% of the riders stopped on the way up. So after watching a few riders remount and ride by, I don't really know how to reply when they ride by asking questions like," Dude, why are you just sitting there, where's your bike?"..."Dude, where's your bike, is like this hill too tough for you?" or "Dude, I had to stop on this hill cause I'm riding a double. Only reply I could think of was," but dude, you're riding a compact double"!:roflmao2:
Oh well, so I was criticized for sitting on the tailgate cheering them up the hill!
But anyway, being the sweet fellow I am, I took my pump along to offer help to any of those in need. I saw a couple of riders on the side of the road so I offered help. The chick says she'll finish the repair but since she was almost done, I remounted the wheel and pumped it up saving her a little of her energy for the remainder of the climb. She was cool! A couple other riders pulled up, had a seat and watched the show!:D
I tried to follow the riders along the rest of the course but lost them when we hit 19th and Campus. Which way did they go?
Short steep section of Baldy. At one point, there were about 10 riders pulled over on this section of the road.

I didn't realize Gina took a pic while I helped Lori. I guess that's her real name!:p
