I am thinking about trying to extend my riding season into winter and have been wondering what I should do about my lights (lovely DiNottes). I like wearing the lights strapped to my helmet. The helmet, which I bought during the summer, is full of vents that I suppose I'll have to cover somehow if I don't want my head to ice over, but if I cover them I don't see how I'll be able to attach the lights, whose velcro threads through the vents. How do people manage this?

Who wears a helmet?:roflmao2:

In winter I wear a wool cap but I do own a helmet and plan to mount my new Fenix L2D on it. If I ever get it!

No need to cover the vents. As others mentioned, wear a beanie or a balaclava underneath.

Buy a cheaper helmet with fewer vents. One you can stick velcro patches to for mounting the light, cords, etc.

Is that bracket for the super flash screwed in to the helmet shell? How's it working? I wouldn't have thought the foam had enough oomph to hold it.

The helmet is a Bell Metro. It came with the bracket attached. No problems in about 3 years of use. I think the Bell Citi has the same bracket.

clear packing tape to cover the holes. leave the last 1/4 of the holes toward
the rear open so sweat will vent.

I switch to a ski helmet in winter. Yup, I look like a total dork. But I'm nice and warm.

I've thought of doing this but the temperature differential from morning to night is generally too large here in Denver. Swings of 40 or even 50 F are not unheard of.
