firstly, let me say this place is a god send and i only wish i found this place before i made my last 2 bike purchases, god knows i would have saved myself so much hassle.

ok, i need some advice/info please.

i bought a cannondale bad boy lefty from evans about 5 months ago, i love the bike...when it works.
i have ridden it less than 100 miles and have had constant crankshaft problems - in that it clicks, sort of a grinds when i pedal, this was 'fixed' by evans who said they took it apart and cleaned it all, it ran fine for a while but now it clicks again on the right side whenever i push down to accelerate. it's really annoying.. and this after the lefty blew out and had to be sent off for 3 weeks.

what i would like to know is i bought this bike brand new, and its in pristine condition but the bike .. in particular the cranshaft/bottom bracket have never performed like it should. its disheartening having a bike that annoys you to ride.

am i entitled to get the cranshaft replaced and not just attempted to be repaired?

any advice / info is very appreciated.

Definitely get it warrantied if they'll let you -- and, IMO, they should.

I had a crank develop a wobble, which my shop thought was just a bottom bracket bearing going bad. Once they took it apart, though, they saw that the spider had come loose from the axle. They offered to replace it under warranty, and I asked if I could use the warranty as a credit towards a different brand & model of crank. They agreed, so I got a totally different, and better, crank.

BTW, I think that lefty version of the Bad Boy is a hot-looking bike:

I assume/hope that you aren't cross-chaining...

thanks BarracksSi - think i will discuss getting it replaced with them.

excuse my ignorance.. but what is cross chaining?

Cross chaining is putting it on the big ring in front and big cog in back, or small in front and small in back.

That will make the chain hit the gears at an angle. That makes extra noise, and could make the chain rub more on the front derailleur (and if the rear derailleur is a little tweaked, it'll make more noise, too).

darksiderising's got a point, I think. Something to eliminate from a list of possible noises.

its definitely not cross chaining as it happens across all gears.
the noise comes from the bottom bracket as i can feel it when peddling.

appreciate the help guys.

Did you isolate the bottom bracket? Sure it's not the pedals? Since the noise went away for a bit after the shop serviced it, does sound like the bb, but noises can be funny like that. Can even be a seat/seatpost/binder noise...
