Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Niterider Digital light causes wireless interference

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My Niterider Digital 6v, 15watt headlight makes my Vetta wireless cyclocomputer freak out. It causes a false MPH reading, and of course, a false maximum MPH reading, like double the speed I'm actually travelling. I've got the sender mounted on the left fork, the head to the right of the bar stem, and the Niterider to the left of the bar stem. Anyone have this problem, and have come up with a solution?

are you turning the light on first or the speedo? what ever you are doing try the opposite. Other then that you'll have to change out the speedo.
I'll give that a try. Hopefully tat will solve it, and I won't need to trade out the speedo.

wrap your light in tinfoil
that is the only thing that might work
then your light will overheat

your best bet is ditch the light, or wireless computer
You might try rearranging things, if you can. My Fenix L2D light sometimes causes interference with my wireless computer. My computer is just left of my stem and I have a HRM just right of the stem. If I put the L2D right of the HRM it doesn't seem to interfere with the computer, if I put it right next to the computer it does. That's just my 2 cents, good luck.

If the light is running at reduced power, try running it at maximum power instead.
Guys, thanks for the responses.
mechBgon,
I'll check it on the 3 different power levels to see if that makes a difference.
AdamD,
I relocated the speedo so it is on the same side (above) as the sending unit, and then put the headlight on the opposite side of the stem. That seemed to solve the problem. I'll know for sure tomorrow, after I recharge the batteries, and give it a go.
