Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anybody out there ridden this bike yet--if so, any impressions to share? I ride a 62cm frame so the chances I will get to test ride one are slim.

Let me impersonate about 40% of the posts you are going to get:
- You can buy so many better bikes for what you'll pay for that damn Trek Walmart bike!
- Trek suck!
- Why would you buy a Trek? It probably comes with Shimano! You're an idiot!
- Trek sucks!
- Everyone owns a Trek - you're a sheep!
- Trek sucks!
- My 1975 Huffy is built better than those cheap Trek pieces of crap!
- Trek sucks!
- Poser!!!!
- Trek sucks!
- You're a loser if you buy that cookie-cutter Trek
- Trek sucks!
- Do you think you're Lance Armstrong?
- Trek sucks!
- It's ugly!
- Trek sucks!
- It's overpriced
- Trek sucks!
- You suck!
Okay, you get my point. You're going to get a lot of that. I haven't ridden one, or I'd give you my opinion. I have ridden a 5200 OCLV, and absolutely love the ride, but I don't know how it compares to the Madone. I'd @ least try and get a test ride. It's worth @ least asking for!
Good luck!
I haven't ridden one either so take this with a grain of salt. I have test ridden a 5500 however. Several tresters have reported that the Madones are very stiff compared to the 5500s and provide a harsh ride.

I've heard much of the same. The OCLV 120 being a very nice ride, the, OCLV 110 in the 5900 being a bit stiffer, and the OCLV 110 in the Madone being the stiffest.
You may already know about this Trek forum but, in case you don't there is some information to be found here.

If you ride a 62 in a center to center measurement, the 62 (biggest Madone made) will be too small, anyway. Trek measures center to top.
BTW...the carbon 110 is the carbon 110...you can't make it "stiffer" than the 110 in the 5900. Only difference is the aero design of the rear of the bike. The frame uses 110 grams of carbon per square meter which is reinforced to make the 110's 13% lighter than the 120's. Better material costs more.

You shouldn't forget that geometry, layup and shaping has its own effects on stiffness even given the same density and modulus of the same material. While this can be true of any material used in cycling, it is even more true for CF. I could believe the "tube shaping" differences between the 5900 and the Madone is enough to yield differing stiffness results. At the very least the two bikes would have different ride properties with one possibly being more harsh than the other.
