Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Simi Valley, California, where the cycling is great. I gave myself a "real" road bike for my 50th birthday this summer, and have loved every minute. Got a Giant OCR3, complete with little-old-lady extra set of brakes on the handlebar, which suits me just fine. I've ridden only bigbox would-be mtb's for the last many years, and always tired of them quickly. The feel of a decent road bike is incredible--I even got the nerve to put on spandex shorts and invested in a couple of jerseys. Next up is clipless pedals/shoes.
