General Cycling Discussion - 4-bike hitch rack specific picks (2 inch)
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Any specific recommendations for a hitch rack for 4 bikes that fits a 2 inch hitch receiver? Best way to secure bikes (wheels vs frame)? Racks which don't sway and are secure? Any specific makes and models to avoid? Any other considerations? Links are welcomed, as well as approximate costs.
Thanks in advance folks. Appreciate this refreshed thread with the latest and greatest opinions.

I've got an Xport Slipstream 4 bike rack. The anti-sway feature (basically just another rubber clamp that attaches to the seat tube) works great. I've driven with 4 bikes loaded a few times, and they stay nicely away from each other. It's not the cheapest rack. I think I paid like 120 for it, but it is very sturdy and fits both a 2" and 1.25" receiver.
Several in my bike group have migrated to the Swagman X Country (http://www.mybikeracks.com/swagman-xtc4-bike-rack-2-inch-64665.asp) where the bike wheels sit in loops and a hook sits on top tube. Good for protecting paint and oddly shaped bikes (and I include all carbon fiber bikes in the oddly shaped category. Holds bikes well.
You can also move the loops port and starboard so bikes with really wide handlebars don't interfere with each other.
The racks are heavy.
