Living Car Free - Need a solution for my car at the parking lot!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi everyone, most of us have the habit of forgetting something particular all the time. I always end up forgetting my car at the parking lot. I am somewhat not comfortable in saying this, but yes, there have been many instances like this with me and I can’t help myself out. I do remember to carry my iPhone with me but am helpless on the issue of my car. There might be someone like me who can answer my problems as to what do they do or would hope some good suggestions from you people so that I can be comfortable when finding my car in the lot.
Thanks in advance!
No worries. As soon as you're done shopping, you can call us with your I-phone and we'll all come out and help you look for your car. What does it look like?
Leave a trail of dog kibbles back to your car and carry a puppy in your backpack.
Tie one end of a long string to your car mirror and the other end to your ankle.
Only go shopping just before the stores close, then it will be really easy to find your car in the parking lot
Misplacing your car and not being able to find it again isn't the greatest reason for going car free but I guess it'll do...

Next time this happens, go back in mall buy first bike you see, ditch the car and bike home, problem solved or get one of these.

Only shop at stores with drive in/thru service.
or
Buy an RV. Never leave it. Do all shopping by mail or phone and have everything delivered.

Always park near a light pole -- if it's got a sign on it (like "6B"), either take note of it or take a picture. I wouldn't bother taking a picture of the car itself because the cars you're parked next to could leave.
I'm a little short on suggestions, though -- I've never lost my car in a parking lot. I've forgotten where it was when I used to park on the street at home and didn't drive it for several days at a time.
Attach a 20-40 foot tall pole to the top of your car, with a huge American flag, or whatever flag of your choice. Should be pretty easy to find your car after doing that.
Leave a trail of dog kibbles back to your car and carry a puppy in your backpack.
Won't work. As every troll knows, pet food can only be carried in a motor vehicle. A backpack is out of the question.
(I don't know what you were thinking. A noob comes here for serious advice, and this is what he gets!
I recently heard a story about a man who went with his wife to a mall. He managed to find his car, but forgot his wife...

Sheesh, I forgot. I guess juniper berries and a simple-livin' mangy coyote pup would work even better.

Mmmmm...juniper berries (http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=7812516&postcount=532)....
Makes me want a G & T, and I don't even drink.

Leave a pile of rotting meat in the trunk.
When you are ready to find your car, look for the area of the parking lot that is blocked off by yellow tape and have bunch of concerned looking cops milling about.
I always end up forgetting my car at the parking lot.
You could always give it to me - I won't lose it, I promise.
I'll sell it and spend the money on programs to reduce smUg emissions.

This is just a common problem, I don’t think that you need to feel awkward or anything like that. Like, I have a small problem of losing my watches……I just don’t understand where I loose them! But, anyways, as a solution to your problem, I would suggest the use of Car Spotter (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=293089131&mt=8) which is an easy-to-use vehicle locator that uses the iPhone's navigational GPS system. It is a great application especially for you as your problem will be totally solved and you would like its other features too.

Well, considering the question the "living car free" sub forum is probably the worst choice.

That is two too many for an illegitimate question.

I googled "trollforums" hoping it was real. It was not, and I was sad. Who's up for creating it?

Unless I am missing something or misreading, the OP is asking on how NOT TO FORGET HIS CAR (ie leave it behind) at the parking lot - not forgetting where he parked it.

^^^ Hmm; I could see the confusion. I figured that he's asking about how to find it again when it's time to leave since his last phrase was, "...so that I can be comfortable when finding my car in the lot."
Or, that could be further misinterpreted as a problem of feeling UNcomfortable when he sees his car, like, "Oh no, there's my car again... I don't want to go near it..." ;)

Does it matter?
Either way, it's either a lame joke, or a bad troll.

... or maybe it's marketing. The thread was started by a one-post new member who stated a problem and mentioned he had an iPhone. Later, a solution based on an iPhone was suggested by another one-post new member.
If I'm wrong about that, I guess I'll owe apologies to those two new members.
My grandma always used to knit mittens for us with "idiot strings" that tied the gloves together. You would weave the strings through the inside arms of your jacket.
Thanks to the idiot strings, we never forgot out mittens.
Maybe you need some strings attaching you to your car. May I suggest elastic for those times when you need an extra couple of inches freedom from the car.

Ohhh, interesting... the plot thickens (not by much, but still.. ;)). I didn't think to check that stuff.

Your problem is the iPhone.... it has co-opted your memory all to itself and therefore you keep forgetting everything else. It's an evil contraption sent to us by an alien species to conquer us through mind control. QUICK! SAVE YOURSELF! DESTROY YOUR IPHONE!
You're welcome in advance.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I noticed the OP's user name is the same as mine except for the first letter.
Coincidence???? I think probably.
But it would be interesting to run a ISP check to see who's pulling the strings on this puppet.
