Anyone used the Slime tire-liners? Whaddayathink?

If you mean the actual Slime-brand tire liners, i've used those for thorny mtb courses and like them. They are lighter and more flexible than some of the other liners(e.g. Mr. Tuffy).
Slime TUBES are another matter. This is purely an LBS employee opinion here...I hate those suckers. Kids always bring in nasty snake-bite flats leaking that stuff all over...uhhhg.
Mom wonders why "junior" is *still* getting flats after she spent the $$$. We have to explain that they self-seal for thorns and small punctures but not for 10-year old boys bashing their tires into curbs.

The former, not the latter; I'm happy with my Nimbus tires, and will likely get another set. I've had about four flats in a week, and figured that since this is a commuter, tire liners would be a reasonable investment.

I've been using the tubes for 900 miles now inside Vredestein Spiders but whether it's because of the tubes, the tyres or just luck that I haven't had a puncture yet I don't know :)

I use various Mr. Tuffy and Slime liners in all of the family's mountain bikes. I don't have them in my road bikes, because I already run Armadillo tyres on the two commuting/transportation bikes, and I don't want the extra rotating weight on the Bianchi.

Or poptart what about those occasions when you get a trainee to replace an inner tube. As they pump up the tyre you notice the tube has bulged under the tyrewall and is expanding at an impressive rate - you rush to let the tube down then BANG!!!! green Slime all over the workshop and yoursel and young collegue.

In thorn country off road i use the liner, and have kevlar in the tyres, AND SLIME in the tubes.
As discussed on the forum smooth the ends of the liners or they will eventually cause a flat themselves where they overlap.
Thorns will go through kevlar, through liners , and the sidewall but they all help. I won't go serious mountain biking with someone around here if they don't have slime+liner. They end up walking home or stuffing their tyres with grass.
They are heavy though.
