Electric Bikes - legal question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
ok some region have law that say..32km max and 500 watt motor.
ok this is its part off the bike itself. what if its part off the the trailer.
becasue some people use the trailer to push the bike.
so can you put a 1500 watt on the trailer to push the bike....:innocent::D...and a couple 12volt batt..

I'm fairly sure that once its directly affecting the performance of the vehicle, it would be considered to be a part of the vehicle rather than an accessory. Ask a lawyer about if if you want a direct answer.
However, push trailers can get more than a bit touchy at the levels you're talking about. I would be more concerned about the sanity of such an idea rather than the legality.

If you don't purposely speed in front of police, they won't even look at you if you pedal.
I've never had them even look at me... They are not interested in ebikes unless you drive crazy.
If the cops are targeting ebikes in your city, it's because they have nothing to do. lol
