Hey gang I know NOTHING about track racing but I want to go to Frisco and check it out. Sadly every weekend is taken for me in October and it looks like they don't have anything to see in December...

I'm curious to know are all the races done with fancy track bikes or do they do any with "stock" bikes?

I don't plan on racing but I sure want to go watch. This would be something fun to take my kids to!

Also, why the heck do they not post ANY pictures on the Frisco Velodrome site? How goofy is that?

Races this month (November) are on Saturday afternoons (start at 2:00PM). After that, racing is done until next year.

As far as bikes go, you'll see everything from stock Bianchi Pistas up to Corima custom rigs - and everything between.

There are pictures of a number of events from the track posted here (he's out at the majority of the races taking pictures): http://www.willshootphotos.com/

Thanks, and it looks like I *might* be free this coming saturday to go and watch. I hope to check it out.

Hope you didn't head over today - I guess winds were cause for cancel today. Too bad about 5 of us didn't get the memo and still headed up to the track to find the gates locked.

Yup, so much for any memo...or at least I would like to know how to get on that list. I drove up from Waco and got there about 9:35 or so, waited until a little after 10 just to watch clear blue skies, a little breezy, and the gates remain locked. There were a few roadies in the parking lot, but that was it. Oh well, since gas prices have dropped, the 140-mile one way trip didn't hurt too bad as I stopped by a couple of bike shops on the way home.

When races are canceled due to weather do they have a make up race? I suspect this Saturday will be rained out so I wonder will they tack another weekend on the schedule or is it just a lost weekend?
