The Santa Ana River Trail mountain bike trail is in that general area.

I've done a route starting on Jenks Lake Rd, climbing up the fireroad that starts here:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2391370, which eventually turns into a singletrack decent that crosses Highway 38 and connects with the SART.
Lots of fun roads and trails to explore in that area.
