Is there any way to search ALL of Craigslist?

On their "help", it makes it sound like you can do a search without picking a region, but there's no search box until you click on a city. Once you do that, it apparently only searches in that city.

You can google "craigslist widget" or whatever, and that will pull up SOME of the craigslist pages featuring that widget. I haven't figured out why, but it doesn't pull up ALL of them. I've seen specific bicycles come and go over a week or two and never show up in a Google search.

Just curious if I was overlooking something obvious here.

Try doing a site search in Google, like the following:

"SEARCH TERM site:craigslist.org"

Not sure if this will pull up all sites, but it should.

Two search sites for Craigs List:

www.crazedlist.org (http://www.crazedlist.org)

or

www.craigshelper.com (http://www.craigshelper.com)

I use Mozilla Firefox.

They used to have a Craigslist viewer that allowed you to see the pictures in the listing without opening the specific listing. This was a third party site and CL shut it down. I really miss having that ability.

The problem is you can go to www.craigslist.com, click on, say, "Dallas", and then you're at http://dallas.craigslist.org, not just www.craigslist.org, and as far as I can tell, you can't search the individual sites with a google search of www.craigslist.org.

The www.crazedlist.org says it doesn't work with IE.

The www.craigshelper.com sort of works. It displays a results box for every one of the sides even when it doesn't get any results there, so it's still sort of tedious to go through. Then it sort of hung up.

There's a mash up site that I have bookmarked on my other computer that has a drop down menu for bike brands, and then searches CL & eBay. Anyone know that site?

Jeez, I'd never thought of searching CL nationwide. That might be a bad idea.

This site works for searching Craiglist sites. You use the drop down menus to pick which areas you want to search. Works fine on my PC but not my iMac.

I really like that "crazedlist" site mentioned above- just learned about it here last week. It seems better than the "xxx site:craigslist/bik" because it doesn`t pull up deleted or expired listings and you can tailor the geographic area to suit your needs. Yeah, it looks like it only works with Firefox. I know for sure that IE and Safari are both no-gos for it.
