I am ready to install my Brooks B17 Champion Special and wanted to know if anyone has put grease on the saddle rails? I heard somewhere that some people have done this to eliminate noise from the rails.

Also does anyone have any tricks to get the grease inside the seat tube? And how much grease does the seat tube need?

And one more, how tight should the seat post clamp be? I am guessing that I should make it as lose as I can as long as it stays up?

No problem. But don't put grease on your saddle rails, or anywhere ele on the saddle. Use only Brooks Proofide on the leather to keep your new saddle happy.

As to the "grease inside the seat tube" question, I just lube up the seatpost. You really don't need much down there. If your bike is steel and stays in the rain a LOT, you could hit it up with some J. P. Weigle Framesaver.
