Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Can you say KOOK?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I thought I was overly zealous about biking.

I don't think Claire's really a kook. I've had discussions with her over email and both in the USENET newsgroups as well as on the Cascade Bike Club's discussion boards and she seems pretty well down to earth. She does have a passion for cycling which I think is great.
OK maybe kook is too strong a descriptor.

kook seems appropriate... :) as in "lovable kook."
Well... some of the cycling meditation stuff may be a little over the top but I generally tend to think of kooks as those raving angry-at-the-world lunatics who are obsessed over one single aspect of society individuals... which I think Claire is not.

no nono!!! a "kook" is someone who might be just a little off their rocker, they may have a few oddball ideas...i think the mediration cycling stuff might qualify her as a kook. it doesn't make her insane..just a little quirky.
in all seriousness, i kinda agree with what she's saying in the "basic bicycling meditations." i think what she's saying is stuff everyone who's enthusiastic about bicycling and bicycles does and thinks (just maybe without all the god stuff) it's just that she put it into words...i guess i'm a kook too.
every time i meditate while on a bike, i seem to get doored... or run over by a CTA bus

Every time I meditate on a bike I get flung over the bars and have to pick myself up off the pavement and re-center my Chakra before getting back on the bike.
