Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - What bike gadget is on your wish list for Christmas?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Santa is polling us for the most popular items. His elves are all tooled up. Let the list begin!

Fairing for my recumbent.
Another set of DiNotte lights.
Nah, I'm not greedy :)

Looks like an old time traditional Christmas this year. A visit with family and hope everyone gets a lump of coal for the fire so we'll be warm.

With employment worries and such, Christmas is gonna be pretty much kids only this year at our place, so no new gadgets will be brought by Santa for me.

New crankset for the MTB. That's all I'm looking for.

Garmin Edge 705... but I got it early this year. :-)

So far I see:

Garmin 705
Brooks saddle
Garmin 605
Lump of coal
MTB crankset
Whole bike
Fenix L2D
Erector set . . .

Only 3 out of those items appear bike-related and none of those are specific. If you all are not more clear I'll just drop coupons for inner tubes in your stockings and save my elves a lot of work.

The Fenix L2D (https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_65&products_id=397) isn't bike specific, and that's part of the appeal of the product. I've used mine for many other things (outdoor concert after dark, fixing the bathroom exhaust fan, etc...) when I would have used another flashlight because the Fenix works better. A lot better. The smaller size and lighter weight helps make it a better bicycle specific light and a better flashlight too. The lockblocks (https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=274) are bicycle specific, and if Santa's a savy shopper he'll go for the three pack to save the elves some work in the future. And Santa would make the lucky person getting the Fenix happier if some rechargable batteries and charger to make the gift complete, assuming they've been good enough.

Starting next Monday (11/17) the Costco coupon book has a $9 off coupon for an Eneloop package: 8AA, 2AAA, 4 each C and D size adapters, and a smart charger. I have no idea what the cost will be, but I bet it's a deal!

I got the same ad from Costco, but noticed every coupon in the mailer was only valid at the new store they're opening that's about 45 minutes away from me. That ended my desire to go check those out.

Shimano's new DURA-ACE 7900 set with electronic shifter. That will be a late Christmas present, as this doesn't come out till Jan. 1.

Sorry, the elves vacation in the Bahamas for a couple weeks after the Big Push. You'll have to depend on other sources anyway.

I rode a 7900-equipped bike on Friday (mechanical, not electronic).

Want!! Cannot afford!! *repeat*

But I'd settle for... oh... a Fenix LD01 to clip to my helmet visor :)

Now, we're talking! I've had them on my last three bikes. Faultless design and performance. My French elves worked overtime on this item. You have good taste. What color do you prefer?

I had the guys at work put on some Red LED Light Strands for better rear visibility (no, not so drivers can watch my butt glow at night). They're suppose to get some new white LED Strands in [hopefully by Christmas], so I'm hoping they'll arrive soon, and I'll try getting the elves at work to install them for me on the front.

I work at the place that makes the lights, but I'm completely useless for anything non-computer... maybe if I bring them milk and cookies I'll stand a better chance of getting the new lights.

A new helmet would do me nicely... and a road bike with disc brakes would be nice too... but for now i think the helmet would probably be the only thing that would be shipped to ya on time... then again i have been proven wrong on numerous times... so prove me wrong...

Ok everyone- I do like the safety stuff, but ill tell you:
Its kind of weird to celebrate Christmas by giving someone something to celebrate
Christmas with. Ornaments, decorations, etc... Its the gift that keeps getting packed
into a box a week after getting it.

UPDATE:

WOOHOO!!! XMAS COOKIES WORKED!!!!

The guys at work hooked me up with the white lites for the front of the bike (actually, I took their only set before their stock arrives)... I almost pooped myself when I first saw the bike roll out from the garage when they were done -- it took me a minute to realize the UFO lights in the parking lot were my bike.

It definitely made for a safer ride home -- haven't had a single car cut me off at any intersections or laneways.

I Love Them!!!

Now, if only the city would plow the streets after the big snowstorm we just got hit with...

I sort of jumped the gun on Christmas and bought a Dinotte 140 tail-light when they went on sale back in November. For Christmas, I've ordered a new Bob Jackson World Tour frame to use for my commuter bike. It probably won't arrive until some time in January, which OK since that's when my birthday is.

I'm hoping that the elves can make a basic 3 line cyclo-computer in which each line can be changed independently. Let me make up my own screens.

I want to see:
Current Speed
Average Speed
Distance

The elves seem to think that if Average speed is on the screen I should also look at top speed.

And BTW, if they could put a mini-usb plug on it so I can download data to my computer, that would be cool as well.

A Bianchi Volpe, Trek Portland or Cannondale T2 would be lovely. If it has to be a 'gadget', then a Dinotte 140L would be very nice.

It would see a lot harder for a bike thief to fence...where do my groceries go???

I want a Rollfast tank and all the terrorists to sit down and have a few good burgers cuz when you are fat and diabetic it gets harder to aim RPGs or something. That and your bomb belt suddenly doesn't fit anymore...

Kayleigh IS my Christmas present and the only reason I can ride is because 3 inches of snow fell in my front yard last weekend and the way folks are driving gives me a fright!
