BMX - Need Help with Shadow conspiracy chain

Do I need the special shadow conspiracy tool to break this chain and put in the master pin? Can I use the second row of teeth on a park chain tool?

if you are using a park tool chain breaker it has to be a CT-7

the shadow chain is just like any other chain. use the breaker as if you were breaking a regualr chain

the chain is directional, so make sure you put it facing the right way

and only break it using the master pin that comes on the end. you dont want to break the chain multiple times because it makes it very week

and when your putting the pin threw... MAKE SURE the bottom plate is lined up with the pin 100% if its not your going to mushroom the plate and ruin that part of the chain. i use an allen key thats small enough to line up the plate with the pin

are you saying half-link chains on fixed gear/track bikes is a new trend? not that i know of. anyways direction, good or bad? anyone?

I think it's supposed to go the other way around. The "bigger" side would be facing forward over the top of the chainring so that when you pedal the are pulled towards the wider end. I doubt running it backwards is going to make your bike explode but that's what I heard.

I tried to direct my customer to a shop that had the proper tool, but not a lot of shops seem to concerned with BMX service. So I ordered the CT-7.
On another note, I dont see why this chain "doesn't belong" on a fixed gear. Other chains are known to break from time to time, causing great risk to the rider. I wont sell a fixed gear without a brake on it for that reason, or the potential for the chain falling of, or the cog comming loose and unthreading, or the front chainring snapping in two.

Lemmie get this straight....you HAVE to have the tool to put this chain on any bike? So you spend 30$ on the chain, and another 20$ for a damn tool your going to use once or twice? Rip-off.
Any way to NOT use the tool? Ill take my bike to the shop when i get the chain if i MUST have that tool, they will put it on free.

I've always use my small, Park CT-5 chain tool on my Shadow Chains w/ no prob. It is hard to break w/ less leverage, but it works.
I should add that my CT-5s bottem shelf had been dremeled out to fit thicker chains long ago though. Not sure if that would be needed for the Shadow chain.
