Ok so I recovered this rim for free from a junkyard at a LBS. I liked the 16 spoke idea but i CAN'T find a hub to lace it to. I'm not all about the 32 hole hub with it. I want to find a 16 hole one. I heard Miche has one but i cant find it. Does anyone know?
Phil custom drilling option.

Agreed. Braden has a Shamal wheelset to Phil hubs (16 spoke).

Your bike shop has its own junkyard? That's pretty sick.

Just do something to make sure the rim isn't toast. It would suck to order a hub and lace it up only to realize it's super out of round (something you can't test just by laying it on a flat table).

+1
Perhaps lace it up to a 32 to make sure, and then order a 16?

Make sure the rim is worth it. If the brake track is worn and the rim looks like it's beat up, it's probably in the junkyard for a very good reason. I'm going to guess that you're looking at a 42mm gipiemme techno 416 rim. Which was essentially a shamal copy.

Which version of the shamal rims?
