I'm considering an eBay offering of Sidi shoes. Does an M after the size, e.g. 42M, indicate Medium width or Mega width?

I would personally never buy cycling shoes online, unless I knew for sure what size I needed (like replacing a pair I had worn out). I've gone into the LBS with a size in mind, but always walk out with one a little different. It does not help that different brands fit differently, requiring a different size.

I know what you mean. I'm considering a pair of Sidi Bullets in the same size as the Sidi Dominators I've tried at the LBS (@$300 + tax), so would hope the fit would be the same or very similar, and the cost a whole lot less (ca. $50 total). A gamble, still...
I've never used clipless pedals/shoes but am reliably advised that I need them to avoid a possible leg run-over with my first-time tadpole trike. Cycling was a lot less complicated when I was a callow youth...but it's still fun.

Haha, I'm in the same exact situation. I have some Sidi Mega Genius, but need some mtn shoes. I tried the Mega Dominators, and they fit great, but the store didn't have the Mega Bullets in stock. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on some Bullets.

I wound up not bidding on the Sidi shoes, but did win a pair of Diadora Jalapenos ($18.50 shipped). If anything, they're more comfortable on my wide feet than the Sidi Dominator Megas I tried at the LBS. The clipless rig does indeed seem to add power, speed, and confidence (tadpole trike...).

The thing with my Mega Geniuses is that even though they are wide and comfortable, I'm at the very end of the two straps and buckle. Since I've tried the Mega Dominators, I know how they fit, but I don't know how the Bullets straps length hold up against the Genius/Dominators.
