Classic & Vintage - Can anyone identify an old bike by its lugs?

No information on this other than its supposedly from the 70s, has english bottom bracket threads, horizontal drop outs and 126 rear spacing.

This is the best pic I have, sorry. Obviously not the original paint.

Is it easy to identify a brand by its lugs? Or could this be anything?

They look like Nervex Pro lugs. That coupled with 126mm rear spacing and English bottom bracket threads makes it hard to narrow down. A picture of the seat stay cluster would help immensely.

Windsor Carrera or Super Carrera, not real Nervex Pro lugs but a copy...the fork crown is the give-away...this one's been repainted...right you said already, anyway they'd have been chrome.

i dont mean to hijack but i figure im in the same boat as the OP and you seem really helpful. here's my unknown track frame. its been repainted and none of the decals are meaningful to the bike's origin. any ideas? (the fork is an Olmo road fork, so i guess the frame could be olmo, but probably not). the bottom bracket says "nervex" and then a bunch of numbers.

The double rainbow decals on the seat tube, painted nervex lugs, a hole in the seat stay brake bridge, the shape of the seat stay top caps, all point to the possibility of a '70s track Paramount.

Are the dropouts Campagnolo? Is there a serial number on the left rear dropout that begins with a letter, followed by a 7 and then a few more digits? It might look something like this; C75034 (this mythical serial # would decode- March 1975, 34th frame built). If so it would fit the Schwinn serial number scheme for Paramounts of that era. Another give away would be the fork crown. Can you show a picture?

Yeah probably a windsor, given the fork crown. My bike like this is a Carabela though, and has chrome lugs on a high ten frame. Must have been craftsmen to put those kind of details on a low end bike. It's the lowest level bike I've ever seen with chrome lugs. It looks much nicer than it is, but it doesn't make me like it any less.,,,,,BD

The lugs are a Japanese copy of Nervex lugs, the fork crown pushes to toward a Japanese sourced Windsor, but could be something else, not a Nishiki with that fork crown... assuming that the fork is original. Repainted bikes are always more of a challenge, as forks can migrate.
