Pacific Northwest - Advice on PNW headhunters

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My family and I are looking into the possibility of relocating to the Portland or Seattle area. I just wanted to see if anyone had any luck with headhunters for finance positions? I've looked on the job boards, but prefer to hear from people in the area.
If anyone has any advice on landing a job in the area, that would be great as well. Unfortunately, it's been tough finding friends that have escaped the Midwest and lived to talk about it.
Thanks in advance for your reponses.

Good luck. The NW is a great place to be if you can make a living here. I know a lot of midwesterners that have escaped to Seattle. Unfortunately I can't network you with a finance job.

At my company we're pretty active users of Monster.com, LinkedIn.com, and inquiries that come in via our website (our jobs posted online are "real" jobs we hope to fill).

There is rumor out there that Intel may cut 10K employees. They are a big employer in the
Portland area, and this is not a good sign for portland at this time.
