Hey im looking at this specialized allez sport. It is my size I think (i'm 5'11").

it has RSX components (which seems to be lowest in shimano heirarchy) and sti sora brakes
Is $325 too much for this bike?
any experience on how heavy the allez sport is?
And whats the difference between allez sport and plain old allez.

I'm pretty sure it would be my size, im just worried that the price is too much.

and does anyone know what the huge gear on the rear cassette is? Is that like a dork disc?

All I can say is that my roommate got that exact frame in the same condition plus a seatpost (looks to be the same one too...), fork, headset, and saddle (all used) for $90.

The bike is steel and a pretty comfy ride, but I think its flexy compared to an older Bianchi road bike. From the looks of it, I will estimate the weight to be about 24-28 lbs based on the fact that my roommate's build with nicer parts is at 23.9 lbs.

That huge gears looks to be a Shimano Megarange (not stock or stock sized) and the dork disk looks to be behind it (wayy too small, hence I know the cassette is not stock). Megarange is a Shimano thing where they just have a huge gear to bail people out.

A dork disk is a plastic (vintagely steel or aluminum) round "thing" used to prevent the chain from coming off the cassette and into the spokes. In order to work the disc must be larger than the largest cog on the cassette.

I just want to note the $90 price I said above is not supposed to imply that $325 for the whole bike is under or over priced.

The price is actually $400, when you include the shipping. That seems a little high to me. I would think you could do better on CL if you aren't in a big hurry. Patience is the key to finding a good deal. If you are needing a bike right now, that isn't necessarily a bad deal, depending on where you live.
I don't think the Megarange cassette has any effect on the price, but I have a hard time understanding anyone needing a 34 tooth cog on a triple, unless they were doing fully loaded touring in the mountains, with a trailer.
