I own a pair of old Sidi Dominators with SM-SH55 cleats on them and PD-520 pedals. The cleats are pretty worn out so I decided it might be time to replace them but the pedals are practically new. I use them for single speed cyclocross and every once in a while I will come unclipped when climbing up a hill. I do however like how easy it is to get out when dismounting. I went to my lbs and accidentally picked up some SM-SH51 then looked online to see that they are multi-directional as opposed to the single direction SM-SH55.
My question to you guys is should I put these on my shoes and try them out, or return them for some new SM-SH55, or just keep my worn cleats on and tighten the pedals a little bit?
