I was looking for a steel framed road bike with a "substantial" wheelset for an all around fitness, commuter and light touring bike. I decided to get a Bianchi Volpe.

I went to my LBS to order a 58cm Volpe yesterday. He called Bianchi and was told the bike is unavailable. I sent an email to Bianchi USA and have not received a reply.

Questions:

Does anyone know of a shop that has one?

Is the Jamis Nova a good alternative? I prefer the looks of the Bianchi.

Any other alternatives?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Update:

Bianchi USA replied to the email I sent. They say a shipment of Volpe's is expected some time in May.

Now my question is: Should I wait or look for something else?

Wait! It's a great bike and worth it.

Forgot to mention, you should also consider a Kona Jake. www.konaworld.com Great CX bikes as well, and in the same price range.

Thanks for the suggestion but I prefer a steel frame.

Is the LeMond Propad a good alternative? How expensive is it?

Hi,
the Snake used to be steel. Did it change? Pity if it did. Rivendell is having a closeout sale on it's Romulus bikes. Really wish I had an excuse to buy one.
