Goals:
First, no riding until my knee heals. My seat slipped a little and I'm hurting as a result. Make sure your bike is fitted correctly! Once it stops hurting, ride. I can't wait! I love it.
Second, I haven't been drinking enough water the last few days. So back to that.
Continue to manage portions. This is the hardest thing for me.

That is indeed a hotly debated item in my house. My wife says 260 and eventually someday I'd love to be sub 200. After lengthy debate recently I have agreed to set a goal of maintaining 239- before 2/14/09 (my version of 240). Maybe I'll post that thread I tried this morning in the form of a poll for what should my goal weight be :D
Of course if my BP gets low enough and they pull me off the water pill I'll probably gain an instant 10lbs

Height: 6' 1"
Weight 11/17 am - 256.5
Goal weight - 220

My goals this week:
1) Bike at least 3x for at least 60 miles total.
2) Treadmill train 2x or more for 1 hr.
3) Think before eating (this is a travel week for me which is tougher)

My goals are a little odd this week but, they do relate to cycling. My washing machine's motor died recently and I just don't have the money to replace it. There's a laundromat nearby, but all those quarters add up pretty quickly. I've also found that the more I get into living simply, the less I actually want to replace it.

So, my goals for this week are to find or build a hand powered clothes washer, and attach a bike to my busted washer like this guy did. http://homelessdave.com/hdwashingman.htm This will let me use the spin cycle instead of a wringer to remove water between hand washing, rinsing, and drying.

Disclaimer: I've seen the same thing on a few different sites. So, I'm not sure if he's the one who actually built it, but his site has a video and a list of loads per month. I don't remember seeing either one of those on the other sites.

Newbie here! Been following this thread for a few weeks, finally decided to join in. Nothing beats the success stories on here, great motivation!

My story: Im 22, 5'9 and am the heaviest ive been in my life at 172. Gained a lot of weight in college, that flowing beer river will get ya!

-My goal is to eventually get down to the 158-160 range-

I actually started a weight loss bet with my roomate so that will give me extra motivation, as well as posting on here to keep me accountable!

Started 11/12- 172

11/17- 168

Goals this week: - Start off on a good leg for my triathlon training. eg: Follow routine!

- Try eating eggs. (dont like the taste but need to find good recipe)

- At least 2 sessions of HIIT.

- Lose more weight than my roomate by this coming sunday!

Why eggs? I don't much like them either and avoid them unless I'm baking. There are plenty of better sources for protein, if that's what you're looking for.

Personally, nothing beats a bit of french toast with some powdered sugar, maybe a little maple syrup. That's the only egg heavy recipe I use, and only rarely at that. I make a mean omelet too, but I can't even remember the last time I had one.

Good start to the week with 2 hour/ 25 mile hill tour on Sunday. Some really brutal negibohodd climbs in West Seattle! Finished Week 8 of a 16 week strength-oriented lifting program yesterday. Still weigh 218. The extra volume on the bike not really making a dent, but my bench is up 30 pounds, my squat is up 45 pounds and my deadlift is up 40 pounds. Will be interested to see what happens on the scale when I dial back the lifting in eight weeks and ramp up the mileage on the bike.

Goals: Cressey week 9; 4 hours in the saddle; no alcohol until Friday.

Hey MissBumble, is that total weightloss from when we started the Biggest Loser threads, or just last weeks weight loss, because if it's just for week 7, then I only lost 2 pounds, which is only .78% weight loss. I don't want to take away from TrekDen if they lost 4 pounds in a week, because they would deserve to be on top.

Wow, this is the best thing I have seen on bikeforums since someone posted the picture of roadkill with the white bike lane strip painted right over it.

What a great motivation! I know it might be late in the game, but is it too late to join? I am bound and determined to prevent the gain of sympathy weight over the next 24 weeks (I'm losing that battle) and would like to get down to my pre-"discovered you really can drive 150 yards to the liquior store to buy a slim jim and a slurpee" weight.

total meltdown on the diet front, but been doing well on the exercise front. 6 days today I got in at least 30 minutes of cardio. (7 if you count cranking the 12 miles of my commute on the day I skipped the gym). We'll see. Also, yesterday I managed to make myself do a 20ish mile ride in 2/35 degree weather (C/F). When it's that cold, man, no energy, but I cranked anyway to make it end!

Pretty good week on the excercise front. Four hard spin sessions, but no recovery spin. With 3 days off, I probably don't really need the recovery spin anyways. On the diet front, I was pretty slack though. I ate meals out more than I wanted. Once at a Bob Evans (fish sandwich, fries, coleslaw, & pepsi), the other at a Pittsburgh favorite Primanti' Brothers ( a Cappicola & Cheese sandwich which they put the fries & coleslaw right on the sandwich) very yummy though. I also had a couple large full bodied beers while at Primanti's. There's probably enough calories in those dark beers for a whole days worth of eating.

Still lost a pound though, so it's all good. That's really the number I'm shooting for each week, so it's real exciting to see. I would love to break under that 170 mark this upcoming week though.

Good luck to all, and keep those numbers dropping,

Denny

I'm sitting at 260 like it's going out of style. Basically I spent much of the week working, the weather was lousy and the pool is closed until this Wednesday when a new part comes in (I suspect the heater and filter are held together by a mix of chlorine and swimming caps). Blahh!

Well not a great start for me. 303.6 last week, 306.2 today, +2.6 lbs. I pinched a nerve in my neck and haven't been able to straighten my neck for the last three days so riding the trainers been a no go. I rode 2 times, did shakes 4 mornings, didn't clean the kitchen(yet) and had bbq ribs to excess at my buddies house. The neck is letting up so I hope to ride tonight. Hopefully turkey day won't do too much damage to the diet.

back to the grind.

No change from last week, which I don't really mind. I'm happy to be at a(semi)stable weight this time of year. Normally I start packing on the pounds as soon as the days start getting shorter. I doubt I'd be able to stay stable if it weren't for this thread. Thanks.

As for my goals; I took apart my washer and removed as many extraneous parts as I could. I've got a clear path to the the drum's wheel. Now, I just have to modify a trainer.

272.1, wow! :)

Oh, that means I've lost 20 pounds since I started losing weight in August. I do fear part of this week's loss may be muscle mass since I've not been willing to ride due to the weather, but I still count it as a win.
